| Bentley
S2 and Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud 2 were built between August 1959 and October
1962.
1865 were built with the Bentley radiator and 2417 with the Rolls Royce radiator. Specifications Weight: 1950 kilos. Length: 17' 7,25'' (5,35 m.) With: 6' 2 3/4'' (1,90 m.) Heigth: 5' 4' (1,62 m.) Engine: 6,3 litre. V8, hydraulic valve adjustment. Compression Ratio; 8,0:1. Rolls-Royce does not inform about the horsepower of its engines, only: "Enough". An "educated guess" based on the size and carburation of the engine is 300 SAE HP. Max. speed: The car was built for the rather bad roads of Europe in 1960, hence the gearing is low and the top speed is only 185 km/hr. But: if you want to, you can spinn the wheels at 50 KM/hr. Gasoline consumption: Driving very carefully you get 5,5 km. per litre on a country road, but at top speed the car does consume more than a one litre (= one quart) per minute so the car is fitted with 2 petrol pumps which work parallel. |
